How to Use POSI
POSI point of sale system is suitable for both retail and distributor/wholesale businesses. This is because POSI is capable of both issuing not only mini receipts but also A4-size invoices at the point of sale window. Furthermore, for businesses that provide delivery of goods, a Delivery Order module fully integrated with the system is also available.
This enables the issuance of a receipt/invoice that allows an outstanding amount to be paid on delivery of goods. When such an outstanding amount is paid, the corresponding receipt/invoice can then be easily updated in the system. With that, reports on daily, monthly and date-to-date revenues and outstanding amounts are also automatically updated by the system.
There are also Purchase Order, Quotation and Stock Transfer capabilities in this software that make the issuance of the corresponding documents fast and easy.
Standalone and Networked
POSI is built with the capability to run as a standalone software and also as a networked system.
For example, POSI can be installed on a laptop and used for sale during an exhibition. Back at the company's premises the laptop can be hooked up to the company local area network with the database placed in a shared folder, so that several computers running POSI can access the same data. This also means that POSI is very suitable for a departmental store where multiple pos stations need to access a single unified database.
A retail chain's outlets can also remotely use a unified database at the head office. (This requires Internet connection during business operation.)
A variation of this is to let every shop use its own local database. The head office by using POSI can still have full access to these individual databases. If the head office needs to consolidate the sale and inventory data from the databases of all outlets, there is a tool in POSI to very quickly consolidate them into a master database for analysis on the Reports windows.
POSI has been developed to use both MsAccess and MsSQL databases.
