  Deleting Unwanted Records

The “Delete Unwanted Records” button in POSI Control Panel also brings up a window to delete old records in Inventory and Sale tables in the database. Always back up your database first before performing this function. This ensures that if you wrongly delete any data, you still have the backup database to use.

It is also advisable to purge records only if the database size is reaching its maximum file size. This is 2 Gb for MsAccess which should prove sufficient for years for most shops. Furthermore usually inventory and sale records that are back dated by at least 1 year are considered safe to delete.

By default all Inventory Rows and Sales Rows within your specified period would be deleted unless you select the checkboxes "Delete only Paid Inventory Rows" and "Delete only Incomplete Sales Transactions" respectively.

You can also delete Inventory Edit Log which is a historical record of editing done to the Inventory rows - e.g. what had been changed and by which Admin user.
