Consolidate Databases

POSI has a tool to consolidate different outlets' databases and then enable you to generate reports to analyse and compare their performances side-by-side. This would come in handy for a retail chain that is using separate databases for individual shops. Below is a screenshot of the Data Integrator to consolidate sale and inventory data from multiple databases:

First launch this window by clicking "Consolidate" button on the main window.

Once open, click "Browse for Target Database", which is the master database which you need to pull all the sale and inventory data into. This master database is just another POSI database but one without any sale and inventory data.

After that, click "Start Copying Sale & Inventory Data ..." button and all the data from the individual databases will be copied over to the master database.

Now to view reports, go to the Reports window. You will see two buttons at the lower left. Click the "Update All ..." button to prepared the "Performance" report. Let the program run for a while. Then click "All Outlets Records by ..." button and you will see a report being generated in the datagrid with all the outlets' data. You can sort the datagrid by clicking the headers.

 

 

You can launch a html format of the report by selecting the "Launch Html Report ...." checkbox at the top right of the window and then clicking a header. A sample of the html report is shown below:
